Berghaus Ullscarf Review

Just because it’s got slightly warmer, don’t be fooled into thinking that you don’t need a top notch waterproof jacket if you’re planning on any outside activities this Spring!

The Berghaus Ullscarf is a high-end waterproof shell aiming to be an essential part of your outdoor wardrobe.

First impressions are that it’s light, very light! This is just what it says on the tin – a shell. If you’re planning on doing any walking in colder conditions, then you’ll certainly need one or more warm fleecy layers underneath. This makes it perfect for year-round use as you can add/remove warm layers as required by the conditions.

Mobility is good, there are no annoying fitment pinch points (at least for my body shape!). The arms are big enough to accommodate a couple of warm layers without making you look like the Michelin man.

At first use, the hood is rather annoying if there’s anything more than a breeze around, as it makes a very loud rustling sound as it catches the wind and moves around. Luckily there are several toggles to enable you to adjust to fit properly. Once that is done, the noise abates sufficiently. The hood also has a small peak on the front which is very handy for when the rain is driving in sideways!

Overall this is a great bit of kit that will find use all year round. You’ll never be able to use rain as an excuse for not walking again!
