A stunningly beautiful campsite, Bothy & Holiday Cottage on the shores of Little Loch Broom. The campsite is dog-friendly, allows campfires, and although it has been featured in the Guardian and Telegraph, still retains an air of peace and tranquillity due to it's location off the beaten track. Still, it isn't too far from teh North Coast 500 route either.
The facilities are very well made and equally well maintained, with good toilets and excellent showers, and also the bonus of a washing up area, with good storage space (including a little fridge), and access to the bothy, which is also available for private hire. The bothy is somewhere between a luxury bothy and a simple hostel. Details are on the badrallach website.
Electric hookups are available on site, and there is space for a small number of campervans or caravans with pre-booking required. Caravans must be towed by a 4-wheel drive vehicle and both campervans and caravans must be 6 metres or under.
There are 12 main pitches which can fit several tents, with parking on pitch too. There are also several more pitches hidden amongst the gorse thickets which do not have vehicular access but are more private and certainly good fun for the kids!
This place is truly a hidden gem when it comes to wildlife, hill-walking, foraging plants, wildflowers and the chance to feel reconnected with nature and slow down from the everyday rat-race. An inspiring place.
