Derbyshire in the East Midlands, is home to the Peak District. The Peak District national park was the first national park in the British Isles and thought to be one of the most visited national parks in the world. Bakewell, situated on the River Wye, in the Derbyshire Dales, is the only town included in the national park and is well known for Bakwell pudding. Many shops in Bakewell claim to own the original recipe for the pudding! In Derby the museum of industry describes the start of the industrial revolution. Derby cathedral boasts the oldest ring of ten bells in the world. The cathedral has been home to a paid of peregrine falcons for several years. The Royal Crown Derby porcelain company is based in Derby. The visitor centre features a museum of porcelain item and gives a tour of the factory. Haddon Hall, dating back to the 11th century has been chosen many times as a film location and for period dramas. Chatsworth house is probably the best known stately home in England. It is the seat of the Duke of Devonshire. The house is set in expansive parkland with heather moorland and rocky hills. In Buxton can be found Poole\'s Cavern, a 2 million year old limestone cave. It is open to the public and it is believed that much of the cave is still unexplored.
