Campsites in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire is the eastern most part of the midlands. Lincoln is the county town. The county is the second largest of British counties and one that is predominately agricultural. Steep Hill is a popular tourist spot in the historic city of Lincoln. It\'s name comes from the gradient of the hill, which is difficult to ascend and descend. At the top of the hill is the cathedral. It was said to be the tallest building in the world until 1549, when the central spire collapsed, it was never rebuilt. Spalding is a market town in the South Lincolnshire Fens and is well known for its annual flower parade. Breath-taking floats decorated with 1000\'s of hand-pinned tulip heads. The Spalding bulb museum is dedicated to those who created and worked within the flower bulb industry. Grimsby is a seaport on the Humber estuary. Grimsby was first founded by Grim, a Danish fisherman. The fishing heritage centre is a museum at Alexandra Dock. It depicts the fishing industry of the past. The Dock tower is a famous maritime landmark. There is a model of the Tower entirely constructed of Lego, at Legoland in Windsor. Weelsby Woods is a large public park, with mature trees and woodland, and is popular with dog walkers and joggers. Cleethorpes is a town on the Humber estuary. It is commonly referred to as a seaside resort, but the \'sea\' is actually the mouth of the Humber. The sea front provides views of shipping traffic entering and leaving the Humber for the ports of Grimsby and Hull. Boston is a town and small port on the east coast. St.Botolph\'s is the parish church. It is famous for its extraordinarily tall tower, known as the Boston Stump. There are many dimensions of the church that correspond with dates in the calendar. There are 365 steps to the tower, the roof is supported by 12 pillars, it has 52 windows, 7 doors, 24 steps to the library and 60 steps to the roof. The tower can be seen for miles across the Fens. Grantham is a market town on the river Witham. The Beehive pub is home to the country\'s only living pub sign. A beehive of South African bees has been located outside the pub since 1830. The town is best known as the birthplace of the former Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. Skegness is a seaside town. The first Butlin\'s holiday resort was opened here in 1936.
