We are a family run farm overlooking the Otter Valley, on the outskirts of a small village called Monkton, just outside the market town of Honiton.
Otter Vale Wild Camping is based in 15 acres of mixed meadows and hide away pockets, surrounding woods and natural spring filled pond buzzing with wildlife. The idea of wild camping is to be able to see, hear and be at one with mother nature at her best.
We have many different residents - Badgers, Foxes, Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, many different Birds and Bugs, all make this beautiful part of Devon their home.
Campfires are allowed we provide fire pits foc and wood can be purchased at £5 a net.

Reviews of The Otter Valley Wild Camping

We had a lovely time here with my son his partner and two young grandchildren. We camped in a secluded clearing in the woods had a campfire, toasted marshmallows & barbecued. My 5 year old grandson loved the rope swing by our tents. We were made most welcome by the owners. The two toilets and shower with hot water were clean and all that was needed. The views are beautiful and woods great for children to explore and we enjoyed being woken by the early morning bird songs.

We had a brilliant one night stay here with our VW campervan. We loved the freedom to find our own space and also loved the chat with Emma's dad! Everything was just right. We have recommended you to the rest of the family so you haven't seen the last of us. xxxxx

Not the best time of year to camp anywhere & unlikely anybody had been silly enough to visit in a while due to seasonal temperatures; however..
The gentleman that welcomed me& my partner couldn't have been more helpful and friendly from arrival to departure! Very pretty relaxing place to visit, will definitely be coming again in fairer weather! Cya soon, thanks:) 5*

We had such a lovely stay at ottervale wild camping. The views are spectacular and it is incredibly peaceful. Possibly not the best place if you prefer camping with pitches, club houses and entertainment but if you prefer to be somewhere tranquil, where you have plenty of space and loads of wild places for children to explore. The facilities are basic with 2 toilets and one hot shower near the farm house but they are kept spotlessly clean. There is no hot water for washing up but we preferred to boil the water up and do it by the tent enjoying the views. The family were incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable.

Just finished a wonderful stay at this amazing little place. Fantastic pitch in the woodland for both tent and hammock and had a look at the Tentsile tree tent while we were there, what a wonderful design and suits its setting.
Quiet and secluded spots throughout the woodland and the most stunning view over the otter valley and we were graced with one of the most amazing sunsets.
Truly one of the best untouched campsites we have been to, lovely family, very relaxed atmosphere. Facilities very clean and the home produce a must for anyone visiting.
Loved it so much, will be going back next year.
