Get out of your comfort zone when going on a staycation, says guide

A new guide has recommended that staycationers could for something other than the norm when holidaying a home.

The article, published today (May 30th) on femalefirst.co.uk, claims that Brits who are planning on holidaying in the UK should get out of their comfort zone and look for something they're not used to. For example, it states that city-dwellers should try visiting the countryside, which could include camping holidays and vice versa.

It is claimed that this fresh outlook will help make your holiday more interesting, with the guide reading: "The change of scenery will not only be refreshing, but the difference in the way of life might actually make you feel like you're on foreign turf."

Staycationers are also told not to forget to research before they go on their travellers with the article stating: "...research is key for all areas. Try forums, local people usually know what offers are on and also where is good to eat in the area, so don't be afraid to look around."

The tips come at a good time, as recent research shows that the number of Brits taking staycations is steadily increasing. It was reported by news.sky.com earlier this month that the number of Brits booking UK holidays in advance was up by 14 per cent in January from the previous year.
