Haddington is a small town in East Lothian and the county town. It lies on the great north road, twenty miles from Edinburgh. St Mary\'s church is the largest Parish church in Scotland. A set of eight bells was installed for the millennium.
Dunbar is a town on the south east coast 28 miles from Edinburgh and 28 miles from the English border. Dunbar is home to the Dunbar lifeboat stations, the second oldest RNLI station in Scotland. In the high street is the \'town house\' an attractive property which is a museum. Overlooking the harbour are the remains of what was once one of the mightiest castles in Scotland. The ruins are in a precarious state and access has not been allowed for many years, so it is best viewed from a distance.
North Berwick is a seaside town on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. The east and west bays attract many holiday makers. The beaches have golden sands. The Scottish seabird centre beams back live pictures from birds on the islands of Fidra and Bass Rock by a network of cameras. There is an abundance of gannets and puffins here.
