 Ceredigion is in south Wales. Cardigan is a town which lies on the estuary of the river Teifi. Cardigan is predominantly Welsh speaking. In 1176 Cardigan castle became the site for the first Eisteddfod - the Welsh festival of literature, music and performance.

New Quay is a popular seaside resort and traditional fishing town. The picturesque harbour and sandy beach is ideal for holiday makers. The annual Cardigan bay regatta in August has taken place every year since 1870. Bottlenose dolphins live in the bay and it is probably the best place to see dolphins in Britain. Boats take groups out when the sea is calm to observe the dolphins and the pier at New Quay is a good vantage point to see dolphins as well as the grey seals. New Quay is one of several places that claims to have links with Dylan Thomas. The Dylan Thomas trail runs through places associated with the poet and runs along the cliffs in New Quay where Dylan Thomas and his family lived during the war.

Aberystwyth is an historic market town. The Ceredigion museum reflects the history and archaeology of the county. There are collections of Welsh furniture, costume and many objects associated with the county\'s farming heritage. The national library of Wales houses vast collections and archives as well as galleries and displays for visitors. There is a permanent exhibition providing insight into Welsh heritage and culture. Devil\'s bridge just outside Aberystwyth is famous for its waterfalls and three stacked bridges over the river Mynach. Borth is a former fishing village along the coast from Aberystwyth. It has a long sandy and shingle beach which is popular with surfers. Ynyslas is an attractive stretch of coastline. A national nature reserve here is home to rare plant and wildlife. There are boardwalk trails through the sand dunes. Constitution hill is home to the Victorian electric cliff railway. It is situated at the end of the promenade. The railway gives a great view of the town and bay. It opened in 1896 and is Britain\'s longest electric cliff railway.
