Winner of Cumbria's Holiday Park of the Year Award Announced

Holgates Silverdale Caravan Park has been awarded the coveted Holiday Park of the Year Award 2014 at the Cumbria Tourism Awards.

Silverdale, located at Arnside on Morecambe Bay and part of the prestigious Premier Parks group, beat off stiff competition from Park Cliffe in Windermere and Castlerigg Hall Caravan and Camping Park in Keswick to take the top spot, reports outandaboutlive.co.uk.

The site pipped the competition because of both its stunning views and scenery as well as its wonderful range of facilities, which include a sensational 17 metre heated indoor swimming pool, fully fitted gym, fantastic restaurants and bars and a fun games arcade.

Michael Holgate, owner of Holgates Silverdale, said: "The fact that we have been recognised for the level of customer service we provide, the setting and surroundings, the facilities on the park and the overall quality of experience is incredibly rewarding for the team.

According to caravantimes.co.uk, all Premier Parks undergo rigorous yearly assessments from experts of leading outdoor leisure magazines MMM, Caravan and Camping to determine if they will become or remain a member. There are currently 103 Premier Parks located across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The winners of the Cumbria Tourism Awards were announced at a glittering ceremony held at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal on Tuesday June 17.
