Swiss Farm campsite celebrates AA award

Bosses at one South East campsite are celebrating this week after winning a prestigious award.

Swiss Farm, based in Henley, has been praised by the AA as part of its Caravan and Camping Awards 2014. The site was named as Regional Campsite of the Year for the South East.

The AA praised the campsite for its "excellent facilities", which include an outdoor swimming pool, fishing lake, bar area and sports pitches.

Talking about the site, a representative from the AA told "The whole park is well landscaped and makes for a peaceful and relaxing camping environment. The attention to detail across the park is excellent and campers are guaranteed a warm welcome from the whole team."

As well as Swiss Farm, other winners at the awards included Greenacres Camping in  Somerset, which was named as Small Campsite of the Year and Grouse Hill Caravan Park in North Yorkshire, which won the Roger Almond award for Most Improved Campsite.

A total of 900 counties across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland were judged as part of the awards, according to All the winners will go into the AA Caravan and Camping Guide 2014, which is in its 46th year of publication.
