Scouts refuse to let icy weather stop them camping

Boy Scouts refused to let the recent extreme weather conditions stop their weekend camping trip, according to harrogate-news.co.uk. The activity weekend had been planned before the snow arrived and the group refused to cancel the trip just because of the weather.

The weekend was packed full of activities including archery, climbing, abseiling and mountain biking but the change in weather meant the Scouts were also able to add snowball fights onto the list of activities.

The annual weekend is arranged by Harrogate and Nidderdale Scouts and places were fully booked quickly, despite the cold temperatures of January.

Nys.org.uk reported that all activities were arranged by the North Yorkshire County Activity team and the attendees had the option of participating in evening activities including quizzes, skills challenges and a camp fire.

There were no complaints from the Scouts about the snow or the extreme temperatures with everyone seeming to have a brilliant time. Alice Pennock, one of the girls who took part in the weekend said: "We love Chilly Camp, it's awesome!"

Everyone refused to let the cold ruin their weekend. Instead they made the most of it by incorporating the change in weather into their list of activities by building snowmen.
