Good weather to continue after sunny Bank Holiday weekend

Forecasters have predicted that the UK is set to bask in more good weather after the sunny Bank Holiday weekend.

The Met Office said although some areas will experience a few showers, most of the nation is set to bask in even more warm weather. A spokesman from the organisation told mirror.co.uk: "We're under a large ridge of high pressure so we're getting warm weather, whereas France and the North West of England are under rain-bearing systems."

They added: "Most of this week will be quite similar."

This is likely to be good news for anybody who has booked a staycation - be it a week at a camping spot, or a short city break. It comes after the hot, sticky Bank Holiday weekend - which saw temperatures of up to 25 degrees in some areas of Britain.

It was claimed last week that around 4.5 million were planning staycations over the long weekend. In fact, VisitBritain said that the popularity of UK holidays amongst Brits was likely to generate around £1 billion.

Around £73 million of this was spent in Devon and Cornwall, according to thisiscornwall.co.uk. The area is said to be enjoying some of its best summer business in years.
