Five Spring Festivals For Campers in the UK

While this spring may not have got off to the most inspiring start weather-wise, things may soon be looking up and our thoughts may turn once more to camping, and to enjoying the best that the UK has to offer. One way to get back out there and enjoy camping this spring is to head for one of the spring festivals that are taking place over the next couple of months. No matter what sort of festival you enjoy, there is no need to wait until the summer – the following are just some of the spring festivals that campers could enjoy:

Stratford Literary Festival (22nd-29th April)

Head to Shakespeare's birthplace for this literary festival, with a range of events taking place around the town. There is plenty more to see and do in and around Stratford upon Avon, and plenty of campsites which could be ideal bases for your stay in the area. Riverside campsite, Dodwell Park Camping and Caravan Site and Newlands Caravan Park are just some options in the vicinity.

Whitby Goth Weekend (April 27th-29th)

The Yorkshire coast always has plenty to recommend it for a camping holiday. But if you are looking for something a little alternative this spring, why not head to Whitby for the Goth weekend. Think Dracula, black clothing and plenty of extravagant costuming that turns the town into an alternative scene haven for the weekend.

The Great Escape, Brighton (May 18th-20th)

This hip music festival features 400 up-and-coming musical artists from all over the world at 35 walkable venues across Brighton. The music on offer is in a range of musical genres, so there is bound to be something for almost everyone. There are plenty of campsite to choose from in the surrounding area.

We Are FVSTL, Upminster (May 26th-27th)

This is a multi-award winning dance music festival, and could be the perfect chance to let your hair down! There is an extended campsite village for 2018, along with a new food village and an area which will allow you to save money by bringing your own food for the first time. Campers can choose between standard camping and VIP camping – there are also pre-pitched tent options for those who would rather forgo the hassle of bringing their own camping gear.

Common People, Southampton (May 26th-27th)

From the makers of Bestival comes this day time event. There is no camping on Southampton Common – but these is nothing to stop you choosing a campsite in the surrounding area should you wish to join them for the weekend.

Don't wait until summer to get out there and enjoy all that the UK has to offer. Take a camping trip to enjoy one of these spring festivals, or other attractions around the UK.
