If you are sick and tired of the Brexit mess and all the politics, mayhem and chaos and are looking for inspiration for your glamping adventures in 2019, here are five of the many relaxing glamping sites in Scotland that you could choose from across the country:
Lazy Duck, near Nethybridge
An idyllic spot, nestled in the forest near Nethybridge, this is the perfect place to get away from it all. This small-scale destination has a few spots for tents, and a small hostel, but it is the luxury eco-cabins, sauna and hot tub that make this an amazing glamping destination. You can choose between the Woodsman's Hut, the Duck's Nest and the Lambing Bothy, each perfect for a couple's holiday.
Wheems Organic Farm, Orkney
At this organic farm on South Ronaldsay, you can enjoy a tranquil stay at one of the most beautiful spots on the Orkney Isles. Glampers can stay in one of the simple bell tents, in the yurt, or in one of the wooden camping pods, all overlooking the rolling farmland down to the nearby coast and the sea views beyond. There are rustic loos, showers and a camping kitchen, and you can buy the delicious organic produce from the farm to enjoy during your stay.
Comrie Croft, near Crieff
Comrie Croft offers the change to stay in a unique, hand-built Nordic kata – a 6m diameter, tipi like tent structure. These are recommended and kitted out for six at a squeeze, though couples can be very comfortable and families of four can also fit fairly easily. Inside you will find a hand-crafted Alpine style bed – on big comfy area, a wood-burning stove, 1 sack of firewood, and all the basics you need to cook, eat and clean up.
West Mossside Organic Farm, Thornhill, Stirlingshire
The yurts here are set within a lovely landscape within a 150 acre organic conservation farm on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. These could be the perfect place from which to explore this attractive part of Scotland. The three yurts were built to a traditional design by local yurt builder Red Kite Yurts and will comfortably sleep up to five people. They are kept cosy by wood burning stoves and include the basics for an easy and relaxing stay.
Gypsy Wagon, Isle of Rum
Another of the amazing glamping sites in Scotland allows you to stay in a gypsy wagon on the enchanting Isle of Rum. The hand-built blue gypsy wagon sleeps up to three people, on a double bed and fold-out single and provides an utterly unique place to stay as you enjoy wildlife and adventure on this beautiful island.
