Culzean Castle
Overlooking the Firth of Clyde, near Maybole, this is the former seat of Clan Kennedy and is now owned by the National Trust. Visitors can stay in a cliff top, camping and caravanning club site within the grounds of this historic, fairytale castle, which dates from 1792.
Blair Castle
Blair Castle site, in the historic grounds of nearby Blair Castle, is an ideal place for a hiking or biking holiday, with a range of delightful trails leading right from the grounds into the breathtaking surrounding landscape. Near Pitlochry, Blair Castle is open to the general public in the summer months and to groups by appointment during the winter. It was been the home of the Atholl family for over 700 years. Visitors can explore the verdant grounds and see the ruins to St Bride's Kirk.
Hoddom Castle
This campsite is located in south west Scotland, in the wooded, parkland grounds of this 16th century keep. Tents and caravans are welcome on the landscaped site, and guests could also choose the glamping option, and stay in one of the 'luxury chill pods' or Kelo lodges if they are looking for more luxurious accommodation.
Brodrick Castle
Brodrick castle is another National Trust property, previously a seat of the Dukes of Hamilton. It enjoys a scenic location on the Isle of Arran and was originally built in 1510, though the site has been in use since around 400 AD. Visitors can enjoy exploring inside the castle and throughout the country park grounds, and can stay in one of three camping pods.
Scone Palace
Camp in the grounds of historic Scone Palace, where the Stone of Destiny once stood and many Scottish monarchs were crowned. This camping and caravan club site is attractive and tree-lined. A stay here means you will be well placed to explore the palace and its grounds, which include lawns and a pinetum.
