Caravanners able to stay longer at Lancashire Park

Holidaymakers taking a camping holiday at a Lancashire caravan site will be able to stay even longer after a limit was expanded, according to caravantimes.co.uk.

The former limit stated that caravans could only stay at the caravan park for a maximum of 28 days at Shorrocks Barn site in Back Lane, Weeton. It also specified that no caravans were allowed to return to the park within 48 hours of leaving.

However, those visiting the site will be happy to hear that they are now able to take a lengthier break, after those in charge of the site appealed to Flyde Council's planning committee for the condition to be changed.

The new measures were agreed by the committee, with the organisation calling the limit "unnecessary" and "unreasonable", according to lep.co.uk. This was despite an objection by Weeton Parish Council that the new variation will mean the site will be more permanent.

In answer to this, the planning committee has stated that only touring caravans should visit the park and that there are to be no permanent residents at the site.

Those who are shopping for a caravan to take to the site, might want to take a visit to the National Motorhome Show 2012, which takes place in Peterborough from 19-21st April.
