C&C Club launches 'Clean Washrooms Guarantee' scheme

The Camping and Caravanning Club has launched a new scheme designed to reverse perceptions about campsites' facilities and attract more holiday-makers, cheapflights.co.uk reports.

The 'Clean Washrooms Guarantee' initiative has been created in order to illustrate to campers that their members' sites operate hygienically. Each one of their member campsites has been asked to sign up, pledging to 'ensure the highest standards of cleanliness'.

The scheme was launched after a survey revealed 79 per cent of campers felt that less-than-sparkling toilets and shower blocks negatively impacted their holiday. Of the nightmares reported, 32 per cent bemoaned overflowing toilets, 29 per cent mentioned nasty soiled toilet seats and 25 per cent said they were most appalled by plasters in the shower cubicles.

Commenting on the initiative, a club spokesperson told rvdailyreport.com: "We want our campers to really feel at home on our club sites, and we know just how important the washroom facilities are in any camping holiday.

"That's why we guarantee our washrooms will be cleaned to the highest standards, giving all our campers complete reassurance. After a fun day exploring the great outdoors, you can come back to enjoy the great indoors."

True to their word, if campers find that the site owners haven't fulfilled their duties under the guarantee, they can make a complaint. Failure to resolve the issue within two hours will result in a free night's stay.
