Stayed for a weekend during the May heatwave. It is a basic site with EHUs and a toilet which is regularly cleaned. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable on the area and are on hand if any advice / information is needed. The camping field is level, well maintained and overlooks two small paddocks with sheep, geese and hens in. Fresh eggs are available at the house.
There is a pub in the village (The Three Tuns Inn) unfortunately it doesn't serve food but the locals are very friendly. There are other pubs in the area but you may end up driving to them. There are no shops in West Lutton so you would need to stock up with supplies before arriving on site. There are supermarkets at both Driffield and Malton.
There are great walks directly from the site onto the Yorkshire Wolds. The area is mainly arable farming so it's safe to allow dogs off the lead on the numerous footpaths/bridleways. It is possible to walk to Sledmere House if you're feeling energetic. If passing though Wetwang, it's well worth waiting in the queue at the chippy!
The site is well placed for exploring the Yorkshire Wolds, the Yorkshire coast, North Yorkshire Moors Close and East Yorkshire.
It's a great site and only cost £10 per night for 2 adults and a dog with EHU. We would happily return in the future.
