Reviews of Irongorge camping

I have just stayed at the Iron gorge camping site with my wife and daughter while visiting family for the week and what a beautiful site with the best host's you could ask for. We stayed in one of the camping pods. These are fantastic if you have grown out of tenting and seek some comfort. There is a electric cool box, electric kettle and a heater if the weather gets cooler, you can have a log fire in a recycled washing machine drum which only adds to the atmosphere. Will be back again not only for the historical reasons but just to enjoy more time at this great site.

This campsite ticked every box. Scenic location, good clean facilities, child friendly, close to attractions and excellent customer service. We can't wait to go back!

We had a great welcome from informative and relaxed hosts. You can choose your own spot to pitch on, and all pitches are level, with short grass and a lovely view.
It's very easy to have a relaxed stay here, because the facilities in Ironbridge, just down the hill, are excellent. A local Co-Op is open 7am-10pm. There are so many pubs and tea-shops, as well as excellent fish and chips, that you feel really spoilt.
Campfires are a bonus. You may be more comfortable with a windbreak, if you like sitting out all evening.

Brilliant site, flat field with lovely views. Very clean facilities. (showers fr.e) Only 1 mile walk to iron bridge. Enjoyed our stay there. Owners very welcoming and open to any suggestions to improve the site which has only been open for 4 weeks. One of the nicest sites we have been to.

Just home from touring around England on a motorbike with a small tent, Ironbridge camping was by far the most welcoming and beautiful site we stayed at. James & Claire, thank you for your pub tips (a most enjoyable Sunday afternoon/evening!) and the prompt lone of a gazebo to shelter us from the good old british summer!! Great site, perfect location, all you would want with fantastic future plans and attentive hosts, good luck for the future to you both, hope to return soon. Sarah & Dave.

Fantastic site with very welcoming owners. We used the Pod as weather was a bit inclimate and it was very comfortable and warm. The toilets and showers are new and more than adequate. The site is located in the hills above the ironbridge gorge but is flat and level. It is a short drive to ironbridge and the museums but take some time just to admire the beautiful Shropshire countryside. For those of you that enjoy a drink the Coalbrookdale Inn is about a quarter of an hours walk away and is very welcoming with excellent choice of real ales. The best way to visit the museums is to buy an annual pass for £28 that allows you access to all sites as many times as you wish, we only visited about half of what is on offer and we will be coming back either with tent or in the pod!

This lovely small site is only 1 mile out of Ironbridge but with a nice feeling of remoteness, superb views and a great base for exploring this historic area. The site was brand new when we visited and was immaculately clean, the owners were very helpful and friendly.

Just come back from a lovely stay at this newly opened site. We were celebrating a 50th Birthday and James and Claire went out of their way to make the weekend truly memorable. The showers and loos were always clean and our accommodation was peaceful and extremely comfortable. We used one of the recycled washing drum fire pits to cook on during our stay and it worked such a treat that we bought one to bring home.. All in all a really great place to stay. We'll be back!
