West Hook Farm is run by the Thomas family. It is a small campsite with great sea views and direct access onto the coastal path for walking. The clean basic facilities consist of 8 communal toilets with wash hand basins, 3 showers that work on 50 pence coins (the shower lasts approximately 4 to 5 minutes). There are also 3 washing up sinks with hot water available from 7.00am to 10.00am and also 6.00pm to 10.00pm plus a chemical toilet disposal point. The use of a fridge and freezer is also available.
The site does not have electric hook-ups, but we are more than happy to recharge any type of batteries from car to phone with a charge of 50 pence. We are also a Calor and camping gas stockist.
The Thomas family are big on recycling. There are separate bins for plastic bottles, newspapers and magazines, tins and cans and glass bottles and jars. There is a compost heap for any peelings and organic waste.
The site has 30 pitches which are set out over 4 acres of land. There is between 6 and 18 metres between pitches depending on position. Some pitches are on a gentle north facing slope. Pitches can be reserved for people wishing to camp with us for one week or longer. A £20 deposit is required which must be received within 7 days of the reservation being made. All deposits are non-refundable, whether you to stay or not. The balance of payment must be made on arrival.
We ask people to make their arrivals on site between 2.00pm and 9.00pm and to vacate their pitches by lunchtime 12.00pm to 2.00pm, so that the pitches are available for new arrivals. The gates to the site are closed at 10.00pm each night. Campers arriving after that time can go to the late arrivals field so that people already on site ate not disturbed.
We do allow dogs on site providing they are kept under control and the owners clean up after them.
