Reviews of Cae Du Campsite

A lovely campsite in a beautiful location. We spent 9 nights here at the end of August and found the facilities to be clean and well cared for, although the push button showers were not great as you had to push the button about every 10 seconds to keep the hot water flowing. That aside, there was more or less everything you wanted available on site.
The only thing lacking was any sort of mobile phone signal, and although WiFi was available it was at a cost - the cost for 7 days wasn't far short of what I pay for Unlimited BT Infinity for a month! Needless to say we did without and waited until we could get a 3G signal when we were about to keep in touch. If the prices were lower I'm sure a lot more people would have used it.

Cae Du is heaven. A really well kept, peaceful, secure site. The staff are always on hand and are really fiendly. Wake up to mountain views all around. There is a no noise/large group policy. Which makes the campsite that much more special. The shower facilities are new and well maintaned. The reception now has a small shop for essentials/sweets. Only a 10 min walk to BEDDGELERT. (along the river bank). Overlooked by Moel HEBOG, Yr ARAN and SNOWDON are walkable from the site. Main shopping at PORTHMADOG only 20 mins by car.

lovely campsite but river close-by meant midges came out after 8pm, which spoilt the camping experience. Also restaurants in village finish service @ 8.30pm!!! and cafe opens at 10am?? but a lovely campsite despite the dreaded midges.
