Our quiet rural campsite is situated in the Chew Valley within easy reach of the historic cities of Bath, Bristol and Wells. A relaxing base from which to explore the Mendip Hills, Cheddar Gorge, walk the Monarch’s Way, sail or fish in Chew Valley Lake, just a few miles away.

We offer a camping field for tents only, with shower block and well-maintained ‘green’ compost toilets.

The bunkhouse is set in its own secluded spot. It has two pleasant bedrooms with a three quarter sized bunk in each. A fully equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting/dining room, shower room and toilet. Efficient air source heating.

The charming shepherd’s hut is situated in a lovely location with good views. It has a double bed, wood-burning stove, calor gas hob. Accommodation for two adults only.

Sorry, no dogs.

Reviews of Walnut Tree Farm Camping & Bunk House

Loved loved loved this camp site! We are a young married couple who camp a lot around the country at weekends and this is by far and away one of the best sites we have stayed on. Michael the owner, is so relaxed and chilled unlike a lot of campsite owners. We arrived about 8pm and he offered us the option of a family field or a more quiet one - we opted for the latter. The site is set on a beautiful field with stunning views and you get the peace and tranquity you want. we were given a campfire and for £5 you can buy a whole wheelbarrow full of wood which was excellent for the cooler English nights. Surroundings are lovely and really enjoyed the stay! Toilets and showers were really clean too which is always a bonus. Michael really does go over and above to make you feel at home and to give you the best experience possible

What a great place to stay. The faclities, although basic, were excellant. Showers were hot and the toilets were very clean and just like indoor ones. We had bbq's and fire pit fires with wood and charcoal supplied by farm. My daughter (8 years old) and I initially booked for one night as this was her first time camping. I was a bit worried she wouldn't enjoy it but we stayed for 3 nights. The site has two fields, a quiet one and a family one. We stayed in the family one and we loved it. Michael the farmer and owner is a great bloke. Very friendly towards myself and the children. We stayed on site a lot and there was loads to keep my daughter entertained. She helped Michael with the chickens, collected eggs, moved the cows into new fields, picked mushrooms (Michael advised on edible ones), delivered logs. She and a friend (that she made there) loved to help. If you want to visit the sites then this is a great base for Weston Super Mare, Clevedon, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole. Also the site is 15 minutes from all that a big city like Bristol has to offer. If your children are respectful of other campers and not too noisy then this campsite is perfect. There is also an all cafe, pub and chinese takeaway within a 5 minute drive. We will definitely return.

The campsite was lovely and peaceful with nice clean toilets and showers. It was a great location, felt like we were in the heart of the countryside but still very close to Bristol. The owners were also very friendly.

Fantastic rural and quiet campsite! Really enjoyed staying in the Bunk rooms. Bunk Rooms are all new and kitted out with kitchen, bathroom and living room. Heating and layout perfect. Such a lovely place next to babbling brook. A piece of west country heaven!

Next time I'm back I will try camping rather than staying in the bunk house.

Prices are very reasonable for what you get in my opinion, and the owners are fantastic.

It is a quiet campsite, so if you are looking for somewhere quiet, peaceful and in stunning surroundings - then this is the place for you.

Superb country pub up the road (The Crown), and Chew/Blagdon Reservoirs 5-10 mins drive up the road. So if you're a trout angler - this is probably one of the best and nearest and fair priced places you will stay. Access to lovely countryside and good walks right on your doorstep. Wish I lived here!

It is a campsite for camping. Not for caravans or campers I don't think.

I will definitely be coming back!
