A small, quiet and friendly ADULTS ONLY Site close to Wimbleball Lake on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Wonderful uncrowded walking, cycling, fishing in unspoilt countryside. Ideal as a base for touring this beautiful area or just to relax on site, listen to the birds and breathe in the clean Somerset air.
4 Star ETC rating with spotless facilities, including well stocked shop selling essential items and local produce, comprehensive tourist information, maps and walks, book exchange/library, free use of microwave and freezer. Well behaved dogs welocme, two well equipped static caravans for hire. Traditional Inn adjacent to site.

Reviews of Lowtrow Cross Caravan Camping Site

I spent a few nights at this lovely (and very clean) site recently and it was an enjoyable and relaxing break.

I stayed in one of their static caravans rentals which was very clean and almost everything required. The only thing it didn't have was a frying pan, however, I'm sure one of the two owners would have found one if I had asked. My only real complaint with the caravan itself was the shower which was near impossible to get to a good temperature.

All that said, the facilities on the site are great. Shower block, washing up area, mini shop with essentials and a nearby pub (although I didn't use it).

PRO TIP: if you need internet access there is free WiFi on the site, however, only part of the caravan could get a signal and the bedrooms at the back could not. There is elaborately NO phone networks on the site. At all. So you will need to use the free Wifi for internet access and the telephone box for calls.

I really needed internet access for work so I brought a Wireless repeater with me which enabled me to put it in my car (where the free Wifi signal was strongest) and then it boosted and repeated the signal which meant I could EASILY use the internet in the back bedroom area.
