Reviews of Meadow View Caravan Park

Wonderful stay at a beautiful site. If I had to sum up in a word - space!! They don't over pack the site at all, most of the field is open for kids to run around and play. Facilities are great, fantastic location, and beautiful surroundings. Definitely recommend. Ability to have a fire is lovely too, skyboxes at night to see little fires burning all around, so peaceful and relaxing - loved it!

Thanks for your kind words. Glad you had a good time and we hope to see you again Peter
Stayed just two nights on our way down to Weymouth. Lovely site with great staff, very friendly. Good facilities which are clean and well maintained. Quiet and peaceful, even though it was high season and there were lots of young families enjoying the space in the large field at the bottom of the site. Would certainly use it again.

A fantastic campsite! Beautiful grounds, modern and clean facilities and extremely helpful staff who are more than happy to help you. We regularly return now as it's one of our favourite sites.

Unfortunately we were not impressed with the facilties and think they would be stretched when the site is full.We experienced luke warm showers and cues for the loos which in our eyes necessitates more loos and more hot water storage.according the site warden that's the way it is(not a good attitude)
On the plus side the views are spot on.

Stayed at Meadow view for five days in August 2015 and to be honest its a really good little site. The owners are friendly and a good welcome was had.Its not a massive site which is good in my book (you can keep Sandy Balls and the like )and offers plenty of large pitches with or without hookup in a very rural setting. We were camped in the large field at the bottom of the site which is ideal for groups and great for the kids to leg it about without losing sight of where they are.Plenty of space.
Facilities were alright, not special but certainly good.Showers were nice and hot and no queues even when the site filled up a bit.We had a great stay and will go again without hesistation.
My only gripe is the Ice Cream van coming round at half seven eight o clock at night. If you have younger kids that you are trying to wind down then an Ice Cream at that time of day is not a good sight and causes no end of whinging !.Tell it to come in the afternoon instead.

Great hidden little campsite. Beautiul area, stunning views from the top field too. Lovely lake onsite with plenty of wildlife including pheasants running past the tents ! Shoers and amenities lovely, modern and clean. Hot water at any time fo the day. Plenty of space, I liked it as we weren't all "crammed" in. Bonus hiring a fire pit in the evening. Coupled with the beautiful weather, it made our camping even more special. Big thank you to Peter & Tim who manage/run the site, great men, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

Amazing view. You meet people. The field is in tip-top shape. Toilet facilities are perfect. Family feel. You have the whole field for your children to play. What a great price. So cheap for such a wonderful stay. Loved Sharon's ice cream. Hopefully we will make this trip again and again and again. Thank you Meadow View

Great site x I asked for a secluded pitch as have a disability which means I am all crooked and muscles contracted first thing in the morning and late evening and so look like quasimodo lol! Got a great spot and so could relax about not being overlooked too much. The facilities are great and were always clean. Dog friendly and family friendly. Nice and quiet and in a beautiful spot. Loved it and hope to return soon.

Great welcome from Peter! The Campsite has a welcoming feeling too. Clean, friendly. The children would have liked a little more to do, a play area etc to maybe make new friends. Loved listening to Tims projects... sorry Tim I would have loved the wardrobe!!! Any problems they were sorted straight away. Loved this site. Lovely people. They work hard. My family stayed in their cottages down the road. Wonderful holiday. Dorset is so beautiful.

Fantastic site and extremely accommodating staff. As a group of 18 with 4 tents and a caravan we couldn't have been more welcomed. Such a beautiful setting with a tremendous field that we enjoyed rounders and cricket on and the kids loved riding their bikes on it. The toilets were lovely and warm and very clean. The heated towel rails were a luxurious added bonus. Will definitely be visiting again before the summer is out.

A very nice tidy pleasant site with no mobile signal, absolute heaven.
Clean toilets and hot showers, and plenty of washing up water.
We went as a group of 6 VW camper vans with an assortment of caravans and awnings, and Peter and Tim made us very welcome.
The children enjoyed playing in and around our pitches, and there is lots of space to walk the dogs.
We would like to think we'll be welcome back at some point in the future.

Not a site for children. Sloping site except main field. Didnt find the employees at all friendly. Local pub only accessible via a dangerous none pathed road. Nearest shop a good drive away. Toilets are well kept and clean. Would regard this as an adult site.

For our first camping trip, non-hook up, couldn't of picked a better place. Got there to a warm welcome, parked up and set up in a very large field. Everything round the edges so plenty of room for kids in the middle to play freely. Lake was very calming, and dog friendly. Dogs had their field so they could be let off. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy. All round loved it. oh and loved Sharon's ice cream van too. Thanks guys.

Fourth stay on this site. All been fantastic. Clean facilities, hot water and polite and pleasant staff. Monkey World, Tank Museum, Durdle Door, New Forest and Beaches within a short drive. Highly recommend this site. Will return again and again.

Reading one of the past reviews, i have to say we slightly disapointed at the lack of ticks on the campsite.
This was something we do enjoy on a campsite and there were none at all......but i guess you cant have it all.
What we did find in abundance was fantastic clean facilities, very helpful and friendly staff, and a peaceful campsite.
We called up meadow view asking for a quiet secluded pitch where we wouldn't be disturbed, as we really fancied some quiet time and a proper break from work......thats exactly what we got.
Thank you for a great stay and thanks for arranging for the sun to come out for us :)

We thank you for your comments, good to know we get it right sometimes, hope to see you again soon, Tim and Pete
My wife and I stayed on this site for a week in June 2013. This was one of many visits we have made to this Dorset venue over the years.
As the years have passed we have noticed a lot of improvements made to the park by the site manager Tim and warden Peter. If you have visited this site before, but have not in the last couple of years, you will notice some fundamental changes.
There is now a posh new toilet/shower block where the pagoda was (at the lower end of the main field). This increases the shower count to 3 for the lads & Lassies. The old block has had a make-over and looks much more attractive.
There have also been changes made to the available pitches. The 'camping' field has been opened up, with electric hook-ups along the far side of the hedge at the bottom of the main field, I believe there are also hook-ups part way down the right hand side of the 'camping' field.
The field to the left of main one, which used to be used for growing turf, is now a grassed camping field.
There is now an area right at the top of the site that can be pressed into use, as my last report highlighted.

We would both like to thank you for your comments on our site we run, there are indeed hook ups down the right hand side of the field.
Looking forward to your next visit See you soon Tim and Pete
Meadowview is a beautiful, serene, well kept campsite with views overlooking the amazing Dorset countryside. We were immediately welcomed with no judgement considering we were a gang of 6 young 25-30 year old's with crates of beer!
Tim gave us a lovely plot to pitch our tents at the top of the hill which was an ideal and picture perfect spot. There were groups/parties of all ages but everyone had their own space and we never felt like we were being watched over.
We were given so much information about the local area and good places to eat/drink, we were even given a hand drawn map of a local walk and were offered the option of having a fire every night (£10 per night- highly recommended and made our camping trip!)
The campsite has such a great vibe and a friendly atmosphere and even though there were a lot of people staying there when we did, it was never loud and the most you could hear at night was the cheery buzz of happy campers perched around their glowing fires.
Tim was always making sure everything was OK with us and added positively to our trip with his funny stories and jokes! He really made us feel welcome.
Overall, after experiencing a fantastic weekend at Meadowview, I would most certainly recommend it to anyone who asks! And I'm sorry but we will be back...

Glad you all had a good time. See you soon. Tim and Pete
We have just returned from a short break at Meadow View. Our weekend was faultless, welcomed onto site and carefully placed so we had easy access to the fishing lake which is beautiful. Plenty of space and left alone to fully enjoy yourselves. The atmosphere on the site is professional but very relaxed. Everyone you meet who has been before have nothing but praise. Facilities very good and clean. Will be going back soon.

We stayed at meadow view over the august bank holiday weekend and it was our first time camping so i was a bit nervous but i have to say my worries dissapeared the minute we pulled in to meadow view! It is extremly well maintained and the toilets, showers and washing up facilities are all modern and spotlessly clean. The longest i had to que for a shower was 10 mins and that was once the other 2 mornings there was no que. we were pitched in the bottom field right over the other side which at first i thought was a bit of a walk to the loo and showers but this turned out to be a fab thing as we were never disturbed and was able to just relax with no interuptions. The pitch was spacious and the best thing is that the kids were able to just play freely as everyone was pitched around the edges which allowed them to play without worrying about upsetting anyone or dodge tents. They made loads of friends and we hardly saw them. Another fantastic bonus is campfires are allowed and it was a lovely bonus. Overall this campsite is quiet, clean, very well maintained and a lovely experience, with NO TICKS!!!! The king family will definatly be back and we look forward to returning very much so. Thank you for a fab first camping experience.

Glad to know people appreciate what we do to make your holiday!!! See you again soon Tim and Pete
Stayed here over jubilee week end,the site itself is pleasant enough if you are in a caravan. Sadly we were in a tent and were put in the lower field. It must have had sheep on it before because it was infested ticks (For those not familiar, they are insects which burrow into an animals skin and suck their blood, they can also carry Limes disease). I soon spotted them crawling on my dog then the 2nd day my daughter had one attached to her leg. After a trip to hospital to have it removed, we all spent the rest of the holiday scratching and expecting to find one on us, I must have removed 20 of them from my dog over the week. The camp owner said it was usual for the time of year, well I've been camping for years and never seen ticks.

Another complaint is about the facilities, over the weekend there must have been 300-400 people camping in our field. There were two mens and two ladies showers, people had to queue up first thing in the morning for up to 45 mins. If you got there after 9.30 the showers were filthy and cold.

There were also only 5 toilet cubicles for the ladies and 3 mens including the temporary block. These soon became blocked and unusable for a while, you were left thinking that they were penny pinching to make a bit extra.

Lastly, we had guests coming for the day (we didn't dare tell them about the ticks)who were each charged £4.00 to visit. When asked why, the owner said its what you would pay if you parked your car somewhere, only this doesn't work as my family had 4 people in the car so paid £16.

As I said at the beginning this site is ok if you are in a caravan without a dog, but needs to address these issues if they are to continue taking bookings for tents.

wonderful site, lovely clean toilet,s and shower,s. this was are first stay, but it will not be our last. When we arrived Pete showed us to our plot,he then said if you have any complaint,s at all let me know and he will sort them.I tried for 10 day,s to find some but could not. The only thing i could say was the weather could have been better but i don,t think even Pete could have sorted that! Sorry Pete but we will be back. many thank,s for a lovely friendly site.
