Reviews of Gundrys Farm Caravan & Camping
Very clean site, owners and staff were very hard working, also very helpful, they could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable.
The campsite is in a lovely location and a 30 min walk to moors valley which is a lovely place to visit with or without children. The toilets and showers are clean but the showers could do with updating and some hot water would be good as it was luke warm the day i used it. Also cheap bars of soap in the toilets and not liquid soap and i feel that the bars are very unhygienic especially with the amount of people on site using them!! The path which led to the toilets was also muddy this was then made dreadful at night as there was no lighting and as it had rained the day before it was very boggy in places which is hard to miss with torch light!!The owner are far the worst thing you experience at Gundrys Farm. What i witnessed over the 2 nights here i hope i will never encounter again at a campsite. I have been camping for many years as a kid and now with my own family but it was just the most unwelcome campsite i have ever been to. It is such a shame as i'm local to this site and it would of been ideal for weekends away especially as the surrounding area is perfect.
Stayed for 6 days in large camping field. The weather was perfect as was early season and a lot of seasonal campers were not in residence so had the place to ourselves most of the time. Very helpful and friendly owners who want to ensure everyone has a good time. Drove short distance to Moors Valley Country park which was great for a walk and lunch in cafe. The site is in a very nice area of Dorset everyone we came across in cafes and pubs very friendly. Garden centre a short walk away with cafe and lots of interesting things to tempt you to buy. Would recommend this site if you want a relaxing time and don't need lots of entertainment laid on which, we don't. The site is secure which we prefer and we hope to visit the site again later in the season.
Quite a nice campsite, but rather enclosed by wire fences. Only 3 showers for two fields of tents and caravans, with signs on them saying they are free ... well we paid for our pitch so didnt consider them to be free. We didnt have electric hook up and the toilets were basic. We just felt the owners didnt really want anyone there and were just there to get as much money as possible. Gates locked at 10.30pm a bit like being back at school, or holiday camp. Really disappointing, we wont be going back
Response from Gundrys Farm Caravan & Camping
Quite upset by such a bland review - our toilet block is brand new and every review we receive indicates how clean and modern they are. We have a shower block of three showers and a large family shower and separate wash room. Hot water is available from 6.30am to 10.30pm - we dont charge. Our pitch prices are considerably lower than all of our local competitors. Basically we enjoy nice people staying - cant always guarantee we get nice people ! We lock our gates at 10.30pm as security, as do most campsites - however we offer parking for anyone arriving back later than this time.
We work very hard to make our campsite friendly and clean, 99.9% of our reviews indicate we are successful in our endeavour !
I stayed in a tent from friday to friday. I was most impressed with the cleanliness of the site and facilities, the friendliness of the owners. The security of the place, and the peace and quiet of the site is wonderful. I also loved the fact that all camping spaces were allocated to the outside of the field so that the kids can play in the middle. Its the ideal place to be for traveling into Bournemouth and Poole and if you like the outdoors, be near the country parks around it, to go for the adventures.
I really enjoyed my stay and will be going back again in the future.
The weather was wonderful as we arrived at this small but beautifully laid out campsite. It wasn't too busy as its early in the season. We were shown to our pitches by the owners who were friendly and informative and had time to spend with us. We hadn't stayed in the area before so we were invited to get ourselves sorted and then go across to reception which was well stocked with local information. The site was super, grass short and well prepared, all facilities nearby. The showers and toilets were regularly cleaned, hot water always available.
We had our two children with us, the owners invited the children to help feed the pet lambs and allowed them to walk among the sheep - the kids loved this.
We walked to Moors Valley Country Park only 15 mins across country, well signposted and well worth the effort - acres and acres of parkland, lakes for fishing and loads for the children to do.
We will be coming back to stay in this site - it's what caravaning is all about, friendly, relaxed and very quiet - lots of birdlife.
