Runnage Farm Camping Barns, Bunkhouse and Camping, is ideally located right in the middle of Dartmoor National Park near to the village of Postbridge.
This is an excellent centre for all kinds of activities for groups and individuals seeking to get the very best from Dartmoor. Walking, cycling, climbing and kayaking are all popular things to do all over Dartmoor and Runnage Farm is indeed right at the heart of it.
Schools choose us for their Duke of Edinburgh and Ten Tors training; friends and likeminded outdoor enthusiasts come here to experience the walking, cycling, kyaking and climbing that goes on here in Dartmoor.
The camping barns, sometimes known as "stone tents", are a part of the YHA network but owned and operated by us. Everyone can stay in a barn, groups of friends, extended or large families or as part of a group (we are particularly popular with youth clubs, cycling and walking groups, as well as Duke of Edinburgh Award groups and cadets). Each has a seating and raised wooden sleeping areas; toilets and showers are located in between the two camping barns.
The bunkhouse offers comfortable budget accommodation, dormitory style with 6 bunk beds in each of two rooms. A kitchen, large seating area toilets and showers are also within the bunkhouse.
The Riverside Campsite by the side of the Walla Brook is divided between two of our meadows. Campers can use the toilets and showers located within the camping barns buildings and small campfires and bar-b-ques are allowed at our descretion.
Like many farmers these days we have diversified and operate the addommodation alongside our traditional farming, beef cattle and sheep. In 2005 we were delighted to win the John Neason Award for farm diversification.
