Myrtle Meadow Camping in Devon

Come camping at Croyde Bay and we’ll guarantee it to be an experience you will never forget, nor want to. This outstanding wide sandy beach curves like a sweep of an arm round the unspoilt North Devon coastline and appeals to holidaymakers and surfers alike. The pretty village, which has plenty of specialist shops and good eating places, is peppered with old thatched cottages that echo the tranquil charm of times long past.

Croyde Bay is fast becoming an international centre for surfing and certainly the challenge of surfing the waves at Croyde is one of it's key attractions, making it one of the hotspots for keen surfers who come here from all over Britain. In fact those who get a taste for the magic of this beautiful area return year after year and it is our pleasure to welcome them and ensure that every visit is as good as the last one, if not better.

Croyde is perfect for experienced and novice surfers alike as there are plenty of surfing shops selling a whole range of equipment, as well as dedicated tuition centres and for those who enjoy a real challenge there is always the thrill of surfing around the reef and Downend Point. The beach itself however is a Blue Flag beach, which means it has excellent cleanliness and facilities. Croyde is unique in that it has it's own micro climate.

The Village Campsite is open for the late May Bank Holiday weekend and then from 17 June to Monday 29 August. Barely a stone’s throw from Croyde’s restaurants and pubs, Mitchum’s Village site has friendly helpful staff and offers all mod cons making it ideal for discerning campers. The site has outstanding facilities including ultra clean toilets, hot showers, a ladies powder room, an outside washing up area and a special outside cold shower for wet suits.

The Beach Campsite is open from Monday 25 July. This renowned site was featured in The Times as one of the best 50 campsites in the UK. In a prime spot, overlooking Croyde Bay, this site, is conveniently situated next to the beach and boasts exactly the same facilities as the Mitchum’s Village site. It is specifically aimed at those wanting to be right next to the water and not waste a moment away from the surf. To help those who want to try surfing for the first time or those without equipment to hand we now offer surfboard and wetsuit hire at both campsites.

I am sorry but we are not a campsite for young families and we do not take pets.
Camping at Croyde Bay
Camping at Croyde Bay is the ideal holiday as there are plenty of opportunities to take part in different activities from walking the Heritage Coastline path to Baggy Point and off-road driving to bird watching and horse riding. All of this takes place at some of the most legendary scenery in Britain.

This picturesque area is not just for surfers, it is also for those who want to savour new experiences in exciting scenery or simply to chill out on the glorious sandy beaches that seem to stretch on for ever. The welcoming villagers will tell you that this is an unmissable and bewitching coastline which in truth should be sipped slowly just like the beer at one of Croyde’s quaint traditional pubs.
