Kingsmead Centre is a small family run site set in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Just 15 minutes from the M5 motorway and Taunton in Somerset it is an excellent base to explore the area or equally a remote tranquil place to simply relax and get away from it all.

Both Tristan and Jodie both grew up in the Blackdown Hills and together with our dog Pickles, we aim to offer a truly unique experience, which everyone can enjoy. Since 2010, we have been working to improve our site offering not only modern facilities but also all the little things that other sites don't, which we feel make a truly 'proper' campsite. Our new facilities block in the lower field boasts family sized shower rooms and a washing up area with fridge freezer. On arrival at Kingsmead you will always find a warm welcome to both you and your pets and our self catering accommodation includes everything you will need for your stay. Fire pits are available for hire and for the total traditional camping experience you can camp in one of our private woodland pitches.

For those who love the outdoors but prefer a few more cosy comforts, we have two Glamping options. Our woodland yurt, set in its own woodland glade is furnished with a full size double bed, cooking area and log fire. Our 1980's Showman's Caravan offers something totally unique with sparkling cut glass mirrors, handcrafted stainless steel trim and a log burner to keep you warm on cooler days and nights. Set on her own pitch on a lovely wooded site and outdoor seating area, this makes the perfect getaway.

The Blackdown Hills are an unique area abundant in flora and fauna. The campsite is 7.5 acres of unspoilt meadow and heathland with two purpose built fishing lakes exclusively for the use of guests at Kingsmead Centre.

There is a good network of footpaths and bridleways in the immediate area and other purpose built trails within a few miles. Running through the site is a public footpath, which leads one way to the pub and the other into the AONB and beyond!, making exploring on your holiday easy from our site.
