Heligan Woods in Cornwall

Discover one of Cornwall's best kept secrets, the peace and tranquility of Heligan Park, small, secluded and set in the heart of the Cornish countryside adjoining the world famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and less than two miles from the coast. Our beautifully landscaped park is open eleven months of the year and has open views over countryside toward the sea and the fishing village of Mevagissey and is just a few yards away from the Lost gardens of Heligan.

We have a selection of generously sized touring pitches for tents and caravans, sixteen static caravan holiday homes and a chalet bungalow for hire on a weekly basis. We also offer short break accomodation subject to availability and a minimum stay of 2 nights.

In October 2008 we were awarded the prestigous AA five star certification

At Heligan Park we have 80 pitches for motorhomes, tents and touring caravans. In the heart of the Cornish countryside and minutes from the sea Heligan Park is the perfect site for peace and tranquility. Most of our pitches come with electric hook up and views across the Cornish countryside toward the sea. We allow well behaved dogs on our site , subject to a maximum of 2 per pitch, providing that they are kept on a lead.

Reviews of Heligan Woods

Lovely site which was quiet for our first week and even when it filled up a little bit, was very pleasant. The grass pitches were not in use at this time of year so our view of the sea was uninterrupted. The staff were lovely, very friendly and always ready with help on the site or advice on the local area. Spotless facilities and well kept site. They were very busy getting ready for Easter. Through a gate from site right into Lost Gardens car park and entrance. Also an excellent farm shop on the Gardens site. Cafe and shop accessible without paying for entrance. Close to Mevagissey and rest of that part of Cornish coast. Lovely stay.

What a lovely setting, pick the right pitch from the website and (other campers permitting) there's a lovely view of St Austell bay across fairly unspoilt countryside. It was far from peaceful for our stay, though. More at the end about that! The pitches are well spaced and situated to make the most of that view. Washrooms, showers and washing up facilities are centrally located and spacious. They were kept very clean during our stay with the "main clean" from 12 noon for an hour. The small shop has the usual essentials and a tourist information available. Easy access to The Lost Gardens of Heligan may be an advantage if you're so inclined. It was very busy during our visit. There is a "farm shop" at Heligan. Expect Fortnum & Mason prices for their deli produce though! What about the noise though? Well the Dawn Chorus is usually a joy but there are a couple of large local colonies of crows who are an absolute NIGHTMARE. No other description for it. Their noise marred an otherwise enjoyable stay and would stop me booking Heligan Woods again at this time of year.
