Reviews of Ship & Anchor Marina Camping Site

I would never recommend this site - however the pub food was very good! There are no marked pitches. The toilet facilities were very poor - ancient toilet block, none too clean, and yet! The toilets are LOCKED 24/7, you have to be issued with an access code for the combination lock, which is not very easy to remember in the middle of the night, in the dark! Showers - 50p for 10 mins, bath - same, hairdryer - same... sorry, but I felt this was unacceptable.
However, for £10 a night, you can't argue too much - except that the woman who runs it just *loves* to argue with customers. We overheard more than one heated discussion about 'the rules'. One woman was told off for letting her children sit in the wrong place in the pub. Our group was berated for 'pitching in the wrong place'...the place that we'd originally been told to pitch by a different member of staff. The woman was incredibly rude and insisted we move our tents *immediately*. We complied, but I was extremely grateful we were only staying for 1 night. Never again! 1 star for the neat site, and 1 star for the pub grub. Minus 3 for the attitude and dodgy toilets.
