Adults only quiet campsite with basic facilities. Lovely South and Westerly views. Fishing, hardstandings, grass pitches, solar panels, toilets, washrooms and BBQs.

Owlsbury Park is a small basic site offering a tranquil stay for adults only (dogs welcome, on leads, with poo bags) in a countryside location, whilst being close to many amenities such as shops, bus/train services, and golf courses. We have our own coarse fishing lakes plus a local fishing club lake nearby, and a short drive takes you to many National Trust and other historical and garden properties.

It is a one and half - 2 acre site with hardstandings for caravan/motorhomes and grass tent pitches available. Non members can jointhe CandC Club on arrival to avail of preferential rates. We also have an adjacent field that we open up during busy periods etc. for non members. The site has the basic facilities - drinking water, a chemical disposal point, toilets with solar lighting, hot shower and wash up sink, and solar panels hire facility for recharging batteries or powering lights, tv, 12v appliances etc. There are picnic benches/tables dotted around and bbq's and fire pits available.

Enjoy the lovely Southerly and Westerly views and the chance of seeing deer (inc. sometimes a white hart), pheasant, foxes, many different birds and other wildlife, especially at quiet early morning and late evening. Wander or sit round the nearby lakes for real peace and quiet. Clear, unpolluted skies at night for watching shooting stars and meteor showers.

There are 2 pubs serving meals at the end of the road, one with real ales. Take-aways, supermarkets and restaurants approx 2 miles away.

Booking is essential, as there are security locks on the gate and toilets.

Reviews of Owlsbury Park

Our first visit to Idle Hours will definately be going back, very friendly owners, lovely site, nothing was too much trouble.

Perfect! A tranquil and beautiful setting. Ideal location to get away from the busy coast for a few days.
The owners were genuinely helpful and friendly, even kind enough to cook our breakfast when the gas ran out in our motorhome.
The fire pit was an added bonus. Sitting outside watching the stars under a clear sky is wonderful but in May... A tad chilly. The fire allowed us to stay longer and enjoy the flames.
Highly recommend this place.

Great little campsite. Lovely location. Very peaceful and although the facilities are basic they are all you need. Owner very helpful. Would stay there again.

Arrived in the rain, left in the rain. Nevertheless had a good few days stay here at reasonable cost. Easy access for all inc large units. Lovely views and quiet, with just an occasional train down in the valley (unseen), and a few cars going down the road outside but masked by a double hedge. Very relaxing watching the cows and sheep grazing, walked to the ponds and watched the fish feeding. Benches and tables around which is very useful esp. for tent campers. Everything you want or need on a campsite, but without the bells and whistles some people can't do without. Added bonus of no children. Good base for sightseeing the Kent and Sussex area. Toilets and shower etc not luxury but clean and adequate. No electric hook up as such, but solar lighting in the loos, and solar panel hook up available soon we believe. Several hardstandings available but if you want to go further in to a grass pitch be careful where you park when it's wet (like now), as parts at the far end of the site are boggy. The owner will advise if necessary. Lots of info sent by owner by email after original enquiry. Will definitely visit again as there's so much to do and see around here.

Brilliant little site, with good basic facilities. Nice hot shower. Stayed 2 nights. Had a lovely evening enjoying a bbq, the sunset and views.

Very peaceful and cool sitting down by the ponds during a hot day. Shops a short drive away and a good pub at the end of the road plus great fish and chips a bit further on.

The calves and lambs were galloping about full of the joys of spring (in the next door field, not actually in the site).

Owner very helpful about where to go etc. Good circular walks from the site.

Will definitely come again especially during school holidays!
