Almost like being in a large garden, this is a small and intimate site in flower-rich woodland with footpaths from the site. As William the Conqueror's basecamp in 1066, it was Hastings where he chose to build his castle following the actual fight at nearby Battle. Old Hastings has a quiet charm - go and watch the fisherman bring in their daily catch; eat some of the freshest fish and chips you've ever had and then walk them off with a stroll around the old town. The East Cliffs connect with the challenging five-mile Country Park walk to Fairlight Coastguard Station, passing two wooded valleys, secluded beaches and spectacular views. As a Biodiversity Site, the surrounding woods are ideal for spotting wildlife.
Access to the site can sometimes be difficult for larger outfits (28 ft or longer) - please contact the site for advice. No arrivals before 12 noon. If there are no available pitches, please phone the site on 01424 812333. Please note that this site has no play area.
For those members wishing to arrive on Christmas Day, please note that the Office will not be open. Therefore you may have to stay on the Late Night Arrivals area, if the site has one. Please contact the warden on site for further information on pitching instructions.
