Machrihanish is a peaceful family run site with level all weather pitches for

MOTOR HOMES, CARAVANS AND TENTS

The site overlooks the famous links golf course with views of the glorious Atlantic, Islay and Jura. We boast 3 miles of golden sands well known to surfers, canoeists, birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. Wild goats, seals and otters abound and we have a wonderful seabird observatory nearby. Golden Eagles nest around and about Kintyre and the whole area is a haven for Peregrines, Buzzards,

Sparrowhawks and a rich variety of other birds.

On site there is a small shop, laundry, disabled

facilities, free showers and -

CAMPERS ROOM

providing microwave, kettle, fridge and freezer for those ice-packs as well as local tourist information and a small library for your help and enjoyment.

There are sheltered bays for campers and PLEASE NOTE - WE ARE Virtually Midge Free due to the open aspect of the campsite and the coastal location.

We are a short walk from the Old Golf Course Bar/Restaurant - a great little pub overlooking the beach which serves good quality bar meals.

There are regular buses into The Wee Toon - bustling and vibrant Campbeltown. Campbeltown is so pretty nestling around a sea loch overlooking

Davaar Island. Its streets bustle with life and it boasts galleries, shops, pubs

The staff were charming and let us put up a tent near our campervan. Our grandchildren had a great time and loved the site.The facilities are good too.

I've been going to this site for 30 years on and off. There has been a recent change of owner and a few updates to the site. The facilities are good and clean. The campsite is a great size and well laid out. The views are fab and it's lovely and quiet. The surf's good and you are right next to a golf course and a few pubs nearby. Worth a visit if you like getting away from it all.

Very reasonably prices and the staff were absolutely great, letting us stay until the afternoon with no extra payment so we could enjoy a day on the beach before departure. Shower facilities are fabulous -really spacious rooms with continuous hot water at no extra charge. Had a peek in at the campers room and it is amazingly well equipped and cosy.
