Reviews of Aboyne Loch Caravan Park

lovely site, helpful warden, and a pitch right by the water. the ducks made my day and my partner loved feeding them our stale loaf. watching the odd boat go past was very relaxing and it was the perfect start to our holiday

Been here many, many times, in fact spent one week there than two weeks shortly after, I also tend to try and spend 2 nights and a day each week, the park warden Trish is extremely helpful and friendly, always around when you need her, would probably break her back for you if she thought it would make your stay any better, (she got me a pint of milk when she nipped to the shops, I thought that was extremely sweet, it meant I could continue fishing) I was given a brief description and told the location of the showers and toilets and given a key. The facilities available are excellent, hot showers, clean toilets (not a speck of graffiti), kids play swings etc and even a covered area with a wood stove, sinks to wash dishes and play board games, there’s even board games and books in the laundry room for people to use. The scenery is amazing; I’ve seen 2 buzzards, an osprey, several red squirrels and something that ran up a tree still yet to be identified. the park is clean and tidy with lots of space for tents, Trish seems to keep my favourite spot for me when she knows I’m coming as I always camp in the same place, right next to the water’s edge, you just cannot beat the feeling of opening your tent door and seeing woodland surrounding a beautiful loch in the early morning sun, oh and ducks waiting for their breakfast. Everyone there is friendly, always a good morning or hi coming from someone, and people are so generous there, I’ve been given bait, beers as well as my breakfast (sausages and eggs, just the job to start the day) I’ve even been invited to join people for meals, the park is quiet and peaceful, the very few dogs which are there are well trained and hardly bark, and even the children are behaved. Plenty of bins and I’ve never seen dog mess anywhere ever since I’ve been there as well as no litter lying about. there’s lots of walks to go on as well as rowing boats available, and at the entrance there is a sheltered area with a stand full of booklets of local attractions.
I intend to be going for many many many more happy times
