Takoda Camping in Cumbria

A small quiet campsite only 5 minutes walk from the Market town of Kirkby Stephen. Centrally located for the North Peninnes, Yorkshire Dales and the Lake district.
We have a heated lounge room that seats around 50 to chill out or use when the weather is not being kind and we have a snack bar where breakfast buns, hot and cold drinks and ice-cream's are sold.
We are a biker friendly site and welcome groups of responsible riders.

Reviews of Takoda Camping

Nice plots, great facilities. Only issues the road is noisy but they can't help that. Shower curtains needed changing, but other than that a great place for one night or a week (or longer) Town a nice walk away, and good places to eat etc: New cafe or bacon butty in the AM saves time. Nice people. Good base for lakes etc

I went there with the East Midlands Bikers Club, they stayed two nights,I stayed two weeks.
The site owners are excellent, they are also bikers. Being next to the River Eden take some mozzie repellent. The toilet block is ok with free unlimited hot water in the showers, also disabled loos. Kirkby is just downn the road with petrol stations, chippies, chinese restaurant, indian restaurant and two Co-Op stores. The camping field is fairly large so if you want to be on your own you can be. There
are tables and benches by the reception. The wild life includes yellow and blue macaws. I will be definitley going back again.
