Church Stile Farm Holiday Park & Campsite in Cumbria

Situated in the heart of Wasdale, arguably Cumbria’s most majestic valley, Church Stile Holiday Park and Campsite offers visitors the most spectacular location from which to explore and enjoy the Lake District.

We offer a diverse range of family friendly options for your stay including camping pitches, electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and campervans, static caravans to rent, static caravans to buy, or why not try ‘glamping’ and stay in one of our traditional Shepherd’s Huts combining luxury camping with an age-old custom.

Nestling in an idyllic oak woodland setting on a traditional Lakeland sheep farm, the area is a haven for wildlife with stunning views to the mountains. Yet the pretty village of Nether Wasdale with its 2 wonderful country inns serving hearty meals and fine ales, is only a two minute stroll away.

Wasdale is home to England’s deepest lake, highest mountain and smallest church and yet the wonderful beaches on Cumbria’s coastline are only a few miles distant. Whether you wish to simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this unspoilt valley or take advantage of the many opportunities for walking, climbing, cycling and kayaking or visit some of West Cumbria’s many attractions, Church Stile is your perfect location.

Reviews of Church Stile Farm Holiday Park & Campsite

Church Stile campsite is part of a working farm sited near the entrance to the stunning Wasdale valley. Informally laid out camping areas suitable for tents and motorhomes provide one of the most pleasant camping experiences I have personally encountered in 40 years of camping. The shower block with adjacent laundry and pot washing area are of a high standard in terms of facilities and cleanliness.
Ehu is available to many pitches with picnic tables. This is a quiet site but is very child friendly with 2 play areas. A lovely woodland walk is adjacent to the site that children love to explore.
Location is remote so go well stocked as relying on the nearest store in Gosforth will prove overly expensive. Worth a trip to Whithaven to stock up as we all did. Nearby are two country pubs wifi is available in The Screes, we didnt use the other pub so unable to comment. Also not too far away is the famous "lil ratty" Eskdale small guage railway. This proved to be a highlight riding behind the miniture steam loco to quaint Ravenglass. The Wasdale valley only a mile away provides breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. I highly recommend this site for all but party animals as a good standard of considerate behaviour is expected.
