Reviews of Gayton Wood Farm

Lovely farmland setting, nice peacefull field surrounded by undulating countryside - hence why we decided to go with our two kids (3 and 6).

....Or so we thought. Arrived lunchtime, all was well, we were the only people there. About 2pm a convoy of pickup trucks, BMW's and other cars began to arrive. They pitched their tents and the music started at full volume. Steady stream of revellers to (this was a rave in all but name) continued to turn up all afternoon. The cars, music blaring, contiually driving accross the field (to get to the very basic toilet facilities - too lazy to walk), and the pick up truck was regularly loaded up with party goers and thrown around the field for screams and thrills until I had to stop my kids wondering around the field for their own safety. Outlined my concerns to the farmer who wasn't interested, appealed to the party goers - all to no avail. The music kept us awake all night, thumping bass-line, and was still going at 9am when we left the next day (couldn't leave soon enough). Cannot understand why the farmer allowed this as I shall not be going back and would advise anyone to steer clear. The toilet facilities (no lights, no door lock) rapidly degenerated under the party-goers assault.

NOT a good experience.
