Newbourne Woodland Campsite is a small adult only woodland campsite on the edge of a Suffolk village. Choose your own spot to pitch your tent in the wood and enjoy a peaceful and tranquil time away from it all - take time out for a digital detox! Back to nature but with a smart modern toilet and shower block, endless hot water, use of fridges and freezer and loan of fire bowls and barbecues. If the weather is a bit British you can cook a barbecue and relax under cover in the Elephant Shed!
Bring the dog and enjoy lovely local walks, or bring the bikes and explore the country lanes. Then relax by your campfire in the evening under the stars. We ask for quiet time after 10pm, so (unless the owls are around) you can expect a restful night's sleep!
For an extra special treat try Kingfisher Cabin, our fully equipped, cosy secluded hideaway with its own wood burner and electric shower, situated at the edge of the water. You can now choose your cabin experience - there is also Cherry Tree Cabin, a quirky, beautifully furnished little cabin overlooking the water meadow. Comfy beds, candle light, a barbecue and your very own fire pit, plus those views! This is heaven on a stick!

Reviews of Newbourne Woodland Campsite

Amazing woodland campsite, shared with the wildlife. Excellent facilities, truly the best showers ever. Lots of lovely touches, like bug repellent and cream provided, and a supply of spare sleeping bags and blankets in case anyone's forgotten theirs. Loved the fire pits, everyone had their own little campfire outside their tent. Will definitely be back for more!

My Husband and I originally visited this lovely Campsite in May when we went for a weeks break away from it all. We were looking for somewhere that was Adults only and somewhere we would be allowed a fire. Also if we could have a pitch in the Woods it would be ideal. When I came across Newbourne it ticked all of the boxes.

We live 180 miles away but it is definitely worth travelling to.

The Shower facilities are better than some Hotels I have stayed in. There is Plenty of Free Hot water and Toilet Roll which made a nice change as you usually have to pay for such things.

There is no Wifi or in fact phone signal which makes for a very relaxing get away from it all.

There is a no noise after 10pm Policy which for us was great.

Whilst we were there a lovely Cabin was being built and we watched with great interest as it progressed. We were lucky enough to spend last weekend in the very Beautiful and tranquil Cherry Tree Cabin.

It had all of the benefits of camping but with a comfy bed and roof over your head. We thought it would be ideal for anyone who loved the idea of camping but doesn't like the idea of sleeping on an airbed.

There is a built in firepit which my Husband loved. There is also a BBQ for you to use and you can buy wood and BBQ bricketts from Jen and Larry the campite owners.

The cabin has a veranda and has chairs and a table so you can look over a beautiful view of the field and trees opposite.
We brought our camping kitchen and parafanalia with us and it was like a home from home.

There are cups ,Glasses ,Plates,Cutlery and BBQ Utensil provided as well although we did not use them. You need to bring your own sleeping bag/Pillows with you. There are 2 single beds which can be pushed together or not if you wish to have them seperate.

Although the campite is in the woods there are some pitches that are on grass so if you are not keen on wooded areas you can chose not to stay in them.

The location is good being within a half an hour drive from Ipswhich or Felixtowe so you can stock up on all of your essentials or go to the Seaside for Icecream.

All in all a lovely site and we will be back again soon :-)
