Reviews of Gypsy Hollow

What a great experience, in a great setting. From the minute you turn up to the minute you leave you are treated to hospitality, comfort and amazing facilities. The little extra things made the weekend. Cant recommend enough for a laid back relaxing weekend.

Response from Gypsy Hollow
Thanks for your lovely review. it was great to meet you both and we really enjoyed looking after you here and admire the work you do at Woodland Therapym working with young people, changing their lives after all they are our future, is to be commended. All the best. Philip and Clair
Two of us stayed at Gypsy Hollow in May 2013 for one night and it was an excellent experience. We paid £95 for bed and breakfast and received a warm welcome from Philip upon arrival.

The wagon itself is beautiful and authentic and benefits from a couple of modern luxuries such as a comfortable bed/bedding and an electric light. The small stove provided plenty of heat and even though the bed was short and we are not, we both slept well.

The separate bathroom, kitchen, summer house and chair swing are all excellent extras and the bath in particular is extra special. Two bicycles were provided and we used them to explore the quiet country lanes.

The area is very private and there are animals nearby on the farm including chickens, horses and pigs. The cats were very friendly and came to say hello.

The owners really have gone all out to make you feel welcome and well looked after. Little touches such as lighting the fires and tealights in preparation for our return after a meal out were much appreciated. We were given bucks fizz upon arrival, bathrobes, slippers and toiletries were provided and breakfast was perfect.

Overall, this is an excellent place to stay and as previous reviewers have said, a true hidden gem.

We stayed for two nights at Gypsy Hollow and it was way better than we had imagined.

It was rustic where it wanted to be in the summerhouse and the gypsy wagon, complete with wood burners and candles, but also comfortable where it mattered like the bathroom and kitchen, which put the glam in glamping!

The effort that Philip and Clair put in in the service is astounding, picking you up from the station if you come by public transport, bringing breakfast and cream tea to you at a time when you ask for it, preparing the wood burner for you... the list goes on. We really enjoyed taking a ride in the horse and cart too!

A pair of bicycles for exploring the area is a nice touch, especially for us since we didn't come by car. Would definitely return to enjoy the outdoor area a little more (it was snowing on and off when we went - but we were always toasty warm in the indoor areas, even the summerhouse which didn't have electricity).

What a relaxing place to enjoy a short break. Everything was most enjoyable and short of nothing. The Bucks Fizz and cakes on arrival fantastic. We enjoyed a glass of wine by the campfire at night and were really lucky with the weather and had a brilliant breakfast sitting outside close by the providers! This was certainly something different and will be returning without doubt.

What a beautiful and totally unique experience. I really cannot rate this highly enough. If your looking for the perfect idyllic get away then we can't see how you can get better than this. Booking and communication with Clair prior to the stay was very attentive, better than I've experienced when booking 5star hotels. Always gives you a good feeling when customer service is your vocation. On arrival we were met by Philip who showed us around and explained everything perfectly..... even the extremely impressive Spa shower taken straight from the bridge of the starship enterprise! The lovely country style kitchen is perfectly appointed with everything you'd need and certainly more than you'd expect at this pricepoint. Add a varied selection of teas, coffees, caffetire locally produced conserves provisions in the fridge not to mention complimentary Bucks Fizz on arival! (Cant believe i can only rate this on a camping website!) The bathroom as everything else is beautifully finished and resembles more than what you'd expect in a good class hotel. Complimentary bath robes, slippers, flannels, good quality towels, selection of bath cremes, shower gels, and shampoo and conditioners. The shower I won't rate, this needs to be experienced first hand so please just book, you won't be disappointed. Let's not forget the sleeping accommodation. The Gypsy caravan is beautiful, compact but everything you'd expect. On arrival the ornate wood burner was fully prepared and ready to light, within 30 minutes we were scorching, ample wood and coal is provided should you need more. Breakfast as you probably can imagine by now is pretty damn special too! All from the farm. Gloucestershire old spot, great sausages (again from the farm) and freshly laid eggs (yes from the farm) I could go on and on and on. This really is a special place, a hidden gem! I considered not reviewing so I can keep this to myself but the attention to detail, hard work and welcoming relaxed atmosphere that Clair and Philip have created deserves to be shared. A truly special place!
