The Falcon in Bedfordshire

Private, quiet setting for camping alongside the Great River Ouse in Bletsoe, just north of Bedford. In addition to our traditional English restaurant, pub and B&B, The Falcon offers an acre of tent camping within a riverside woodland setting. We have two large car parks, covered parking plus enclosed garages for individuals wanting a clean, safe parking location for their car or caravan.

Reviews of The Falcon

This is not a campsite, it is a carpark at the back of the pub, there is no view, just fences & the back of old buildings. No rubbish bins, no toilets (except when the pub is open) no showers, no grey water waste and not toilet waste to be found.

The Pub is very nice serving nice food but if you are thinking of a campsite, this is not one - it is more like an Aire in France but without even the basic facilities.

Good if you are just going to eat a meal with a few glasses of wine and park overnight but not a camping site.

Lovely! Spent a night in the camping area on the river behind the pub. Left motorhome in clean rear car park hooked up to dedicated water and electrical. Quiet, private camping in the woods felt like a real getaway but, with access to all the pubs great food and toilet facilities. Not for those wanting a fancy, formal set-up. Will certainly return again.

Booked 3 night stay to visit folks in Bedford. New Falcon because we had lived in Bedford for 45 years, so thought this sounded nice. Extremely disappointed! No water/toilets/showers only a square of stones on a carpark behind the pub with no view but a fence and customers cars. Could use the pub toilets but had to wait until manager arrived at 10am. Water from a hosepipe at the back of the kitchen. Chemical disposal in view of customers achieved by lifting a manhole cover in a square of grass behind pub - had to walk around front of pub to get water and dispose of waste. Existed on bottled water! No way of putting up awning, and diesel/stone mixture walked into caravan, so spoiling carpet. Spent most of day tearing around trying to find alternative. NICE!!
