Motorhome dream to become reality for leukaemia patient

A Leukaemia patient has described how much she is looking forward to an upcoming motorhome holiday with her father.

The Lancashire Evening Post described how the charities Dreams Come True and Promised Dreams have combined to fund a trip for 18-year-old Katie Buckley and her father Mark.

Her mother Sharon labelled it "lovely" that her daughter is having the chance to head out on to the open road in a motorhome, but while such vehicles are hugely popular at campsites in the UK, Katie will be going slightly further afield.

The Garstang teenager will travel with her father to New Zealand and enjoy the scenery from the comfort of their motorhome. She said: "I will be going with my dad and we will travel around in a motorhome as that is the best way of seeing all that New Zealand has to offer. I'm so grateful to both the charities for organising the money."

For those wishing to buy a motorhome in the north west of England, the Northwich Guardian reported that a new caravan and motorhome retailer has risen from the ashes of Discover Leisure, which went into administration earlier this year.

Four workers from that company have banded together to form A&E Leisure, but they they have revealed that they hope to save more jobs in the area if their new business venture goes well.
