If you're looking to cut down on holiday expenses, then how could you do better than finding things to do that are free? This book, FreeToDo UK & Ireland aims to help you do exactly that.

The premise of the book is a very good one- listing all free attractions throughout the UK & Ireland. It has a superb and very comprehensive selection of what seems like every free attraction, indoor and outdoor, across the UK/Ireland. From prehistoric ruins to majestic country homes, from beautiful gardens to art galleries and museums, the book caters for every age and taste.

Whether you are looking for a full day out, a weekend's worth of activities or an entire holiday full of free things to do, there is enough content in this book to keep you going for ages.

There is one drawback to having so much content in one place and that is that the book isn't ordered particularly well. The contents page lists the different countries the book covers (e.g. Scotland/England/Channel Islands), but there is no further detail than that. This means that if I was looking for attractions in the south west of England, I would have to search through the whole England section (160 pages) to find the West Country section. It's a very simple omission, but it makes the book sometimes frustrating to use. This drawback is countered by the very good index, listing all attractions and proving very useful when looking for a particular attraction.

At just £8.49 in the UK, FreeToDo UK & Ireland will pay for itself within just a few hours of use! While let down by the omission of a more detailed contents page, the book is still useable and very useful and as such is recommended for everyone looking to make their holidays a bit more interesting at no extra cost!
