Welcome to Fangfoss Caravan Park. Covering 4.5 acres the park enjoys the advantage of grassed and hard standing pitches on the old railway line and a well drained field, offering 75 pitches, all with electric hook up.
Access roads to the park are good and from the park entrance a service road runs through the park.
Fangfoss Railway Station stands on the line which ran from York to Market Weighton. The line was opened on 4th October, 1847 and from Market Weighton on to Beverly and Hull on 1st May, 1865.
Fangfoss Station was used a great deal during World War Two for troop movements, and also for transporting livestock and agricultural goods over a much longer period. The station was closed to passengers on 5th January, 1959 and for freight on 7th June, 1965. The line was closed to all traffic on 29th November, 1965.
The Caravan Park has been developed around the platforms and the old railway station (now a grade II listed building), which together with the trees and hedges that surround the park and line the lanes, provide a beautiful country setting for caravan and camping holidays.
It is our express wish to provide a clean, friendly park in the Vale of York from which to visit the many attractions of the historic city of York and the surrounding areas, and we are constantly on hand to assist you in any way to make your stay more enjoyable.
