Thorncombe Farm in Dorset

Thorncombe Farm is a small, family run, livestock farm in the heart of Dorset. The village of Bockhampton was the home of our famous author Thomas Hardy and many of the local places are the settings for his books.

We have fully furnished bell tents and grass pitches for caravans, tents , motorhomes and trailer tents.

New for 2018 - Our main venture comes in the form of Cool Haven Bell Tents for those who want a little more luxury and less hassle but dont really want to do all the packing , unloading , putting up, taking down...... etc etc.

We now supply furnished bell tents with proper beds , mattresses and bottom linen. We also include a firepit/Barbecue and a double burner gas hob ,cutlery, mugs, plates , a fridge in the bell tent. and a free 1st bag of logs with the bell tent booking.

We are one of the few campsite that allows fires. We will supply firepits, wood and charcoal , to order, on site for you to enjoy an open fire experience that is often missing from camping. Get your marshmallows and get toasting! Try our home produced lamb burgers as well.

Please note we do accept dogs however they must be under control and on a leash at all times.Please be considerate to other campers as well, much appreciated. No exceptions as we have pedigree livestock on the farm.

We do allow groups but only on a site hire basis so as not disturb other guests , please enquire.

Motorcyclists are welcome , however this is a quiet site on a farm so minimum noise is acceptable.
