Escape to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that includes part of the World Heritage Coastline.
The site is an open sloping field surrounded by farmland. It has views to the sea and Clavell Tower on one side and the Purbeck Hills on the other.
Kimmeridge Bay (also part of the Smedmore Estate) is famous for fossils, fascinating geological strata and rockpools. There is windsurfing and diving on the ledges and a slipway for boats alongside the Dorset Wildlife Trust's Fine Marine Centre, which is open to the public.
Many people stay at the site for its walking opportunities as the Dorset Coastal Path runs close by. For the avid explorer there is the wartime-abandoned village of Tyneham on MOD land. In a North Westerly wind, the distant crump of tank fire on the ranges is the only intrusion to this otherwise peaceful rural area.
The site covers 4 acres, with 42 grass pitches, most of which require leveling blocks.
Drinking water is available from our service points.
Most pitches are available with electrical hookup.
Please note the site has no toilets or showers only a chemical emptying facility so your own sanitation is required.
