Riverside Lakes is an informal, non-commercial & environmentally friendly campsite based in East Dorset, 8mls from Wimborne and only 20min to Bournemouth beach.

There are flat pitches within yards of the fishing lakes and limited electric hook-ups (100% of the site power being derived from wind farm or hydroelectric sources).

Chemical toilet point, recycling & rubbish bins, fresh water taps, basic toilets (including an environmentally sound composting toilet), showers & washing-up facilities. Waste water & sewage is processed & cleaned without chemicals on-site.

The large firepit seems to be really appreciated & we also have a couple of smaller, more remote, firepits & a number of open fire braziers for individual campers & groups.

We are NOT a holiday park and do not want to be.
The site policy is very basic - BE NICE OR LEAVE!

If you are the sort of person that drops litter, steals toilet rolls, hates the country, thinks the world owes you a favour or simply requires spoon-fed plug-in entertainment - please do not come to our campsite as you will not like it.

If, however, you sometimes gaze at the stars, watch the wildlife, perhaps travel around with a handy musical instrument, huddle around a campfire chatting, want to sit in a tree thinking, collect wild food from the hedges or simply want to allow your kids to cycle, get dirty and play with sticks as you once did, then this is your sort of place.

PLEASE NOTE:
- no pets unless by prior arrangement
- polite, well-behaved children (and their adults) only

Reviews of Riverside Lakes

A truly lovely campsite. The owners are fantastic and made us feel very welcome. They helped us with all our stuff to our pitch that couldn't be driven to and came round every evening to see if we were ok. The fire pit was amazing and our fire didn't go out all weekend!! We went as a group of three families and stayed in the chill out area!! We are all returning in the next couple of weeks and cant wait...
