Lakefield is a quiet, secluded, family run Caravan Site with it's own lake and valley views set in five acres on a small fifty four acre holding. The site has 40 pitches which are well spaced and on level grass with 24 electric hook-ups. A dozen picnic tables are dotted about, with a large area for children to play ball games. A separate field is provided and dogs are welcome.
The toilet block is clean and bright, providing shelves, hooks, stools etc. making life easier. There are shaving and hairdryer points, chemical disposal unit and waste water drains. Also provided is a washing machine and dryer in the ladies, plus a dishwashing and laundry sink outside but under cover. Hot water and showers are free. The site has a small shop offering all the basics. All male and female parties are welcomed.
In the barn is an animal corner with rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks. Wabbit World outside is fascinating - just watch the wabbits disappear down one burrow and come up out of another.
The white washed shop/reception converted from one of the old barns and including a fascinating picture gallery is open all day and all season. The Lakefield Tearoom offers cream teas, cakes and sandwiches.
Tintagel, Boscastle, Bodmin Moor and the many beaches and coves of the North Cornwall coast wait to be explored. Cornwall's first windfarm watches over the site and the Arthurian Centre, Cycle Museum and the Camel Trail are close by. Fishing (sea 4 miles, coarse 5 miles), Golf 2 miles.
A BHS approved riding school on site offers lessons and hacks with qualified supervision and instruction. We have a showjumping paddock and a crosscountry course. There are 35 horses, from miniature Shetlands to thoroughbreds. All abilities catered for (sand menage, indoor school, good off road hacking and farm rides) and it is the riding for the disabled centre for North Cornwall.
