The campsite has very basic facilities for those who want a break from modern life, but there is a country pub and a spar shop an easy five minute walk away and a bustling little market town just 4 miles down the road. This is Basic Camping on a working farm; at present campers washing facilities consist of just a cold water tap though we do have beautiful flush loos, so don't expect too much in the way of modern comforts, just enjoy our countryside! Campfires allowed. No cars allowed in the camping fields except briefly to unload.
Reviews of Oakfield Farm
Fantastic campsite. All you need is here, loads of space for kids to play, roaring campfires in the evenings, clean toilets and drinking water. Not to mention a well organised and warmly accomodating host - June. We had planned to go out for the day on Saturday but the children were so happy we decided to just kick back and relax at the campsite. Sunday morning milking Pansy was a highlight for the children and June is a very interesting lady to listen to. All in all a fantastic site and we hope to return.
A huge thank you to June for all your help throughout my stay on your campsite. Was so peaceful in the adult area. Your help upon my arrival was so warm and welcoming, infact you couldn't really fault anything, even your cow milking demonstration was brilliant its nice to see that your farm skills in use. Would defiantly recommend to anyone and everyone i know. Thanks once again.

Was a lovely place very quiet, we had 3 tents and was put in a non camping field which had not been mowed and full of thistles and very open. we were a fair way away from the toilet which they say is a new block it was basically a porta loo with a porper flushing toilet and a hand basin they were not that clean and smelt maybe because it toward the end of season. For the money they charged washing facilities would be nice.
Response from Oakfield Farm:
Yes, sorry we do not have mown lawns, this is a farm. Nor do we have 'portaloos'. The very furthest distance to our flush loos from anyplace is 125m. All other campers say the loos are clean and value is excellent

Thank you for our camping weekend last weekend.
We stayed as a small group of friends and the children (3 x 8yrs, 3 x 6yrs and a 4 yr old) loved it - milking the cow, watching the hay being flayed by the tractor to dry, and then the next day watching it be turned into the huge sileage bales and then be carted off, leaving them with a close up experience of farming and a huge field to play in.
Loved it. Thanks for a memorable weekend.

We had a wonderful stay here - its peaceful, friendly & amazingly well run.
Anyone considering this site - please visit, it's quiet for adults & safe for families too.
June is so welcoming & relaxed - fresh eggs in the morning were a real bonus! :-)

Just a quick note to say thank you so much for a lovely weekend's stay. Oakfield Farm is a very special place not to be missed, and you made us feel SO welcome.
For those thinking of visiting Oakfield Farm- we strongly suggest that you do! Traditional campfires, lots of camping space, great toilet facilities and a friendly welcome provide the bedrock for a fabulous stay-away, whilst the chance to meet the animals and witness traditional hand-milking will be a bonus for any visitor- particularly those with children.
We had a lovely time and will definitely be back again to visit Pansy the Cow and the piggies
