Reviews of Sligachan Camp Site
We stayed here in May 2011 and really enjoyed it. The scenery is amazing and the low key facilities suited our family with young children. There are lots of opportunities for hillwalking nearby.
The site is not all level, but you can pick your own spot. The warden comes to your tent on the evening you arrive to take site fees and find out how long you plan on staying. We paid only £16 a night for tent plus 2 adults and 4 children!
There are separate male and female toilet and shower facilities within an old croft building. There are hair dryers in the ladies. One washer and one dryer next door take 2 x £1 coins a time. The dishwashing sinks are behind this building- outdoors, but the sinks themselves are covered.
There is a play park across the main road at Sligachan Hotel, which also does nice bar meals. For shopping, you need to drive to Portree or Broadford.
The only drawback of this site (unless you're looking for luxury toilet blocks!) is that it is very open and exposed to the wind, so not good if the weather is at all rough.
Would definitely stay there again.
