A warm island welcome awaits you at this small friendly, family-run site which lies immediately beside the home of the owner in Shawbost on the scenic west coast of Lewis.

Opened in 1992, Eilean Fraoich campsite is situated one mile from Shawbost shore and it's adjacent freshwater loch as well as being overlooked by Beinn Bhragair.

The camp site is also close to many significant historical sites such as the Arnol Black House (re-creating the living conditions that continued in rural Lewis well into the Twentieth century), the Callanish Standing Stones, The Carloway Broch (a relic of Pictish life two thousand years ago) and the medievel Norse Mill.

The site is level with both hard-standing and grass pitches with electric hook-up points, water stand pipe and chemical waste disposal point.

The amenities block contains toilets, washbasins and showers, both with hot and cold water supply. The kitchen area includes facilities for cooking, refrigeration and dishwashing as well as a separate dining/common room area.

Other features include disabled facilities, laundry can be washed and dried on site, hair drying facilities available, payphone available on site, pets welcome + dog Walk/exercise Area.

Reviews of Eilean Fraoich Camp Site

Good location for visiting the Lewis attractions. Electrical Hook up pitches are on grass and level. We found the owners, Mary and Ian, very helpful and welcoming.Facilities were clean altho not particularily spacious. We had booked for 4 days but extended our stay to 6 days.Good quiet site.
